We are now on our fifth GE Monogram refrigerator in four years, so at least GE has provided us with plenty of opportunities to evaluate the product. The latest replacement is installed and already has an annoying vibration and unusual sound, which is especially encouraging given our past experience. We have enjoyed repeated failures, extended periods without a working refrigerator, spoiled food, extra grocery trips, and even the privilege of purchasing a backup refrigerator at our own expense. If reliability, peace of mind, and food preservation are important to you, our experience with this refrigerator has been unforgettable.

I am very pleased with the GE Monogram refrigerator. It surpasses the older GE model I had for 113 years. It has more space and has much more light. Shelves and drawers are easier to manipulate. Settings are pretty easy to deal with. Wish there was some way to illuminate the settings inside the fridge. I have to get a flashlight. My real complaint is the ice bin. It still is a bear to get in and out and it has to be emptied at least every week. It is easier than the the old model, but it still gets very heavy when full of ice/

I built this home with Darling/Taylor Morris and they said this was the only size and model for the kitchen. This was an $8000+ fridge. Ever since I™€™ve had it ™€¦ problems with evaporation system, thermostat, main board. I™€™ve been paying abt $300-500 a year in repairs. It™€™s ridiculous. GE needs to stand by its Monogram product.

On the day it was delivered, we heard very loud clicking/banging sound every time we opened the refrigerator door. We also found a screw on the floor. Turned out, the cover plate at the bottom of the fridge was not securely fastened. We hired a handyman to put the screw back temporarily. We will have a serviceu guy from GE to fix the problem for us. I hope he can provide permanent solution to the problem.

Incredibly expensive and the most unreliable appliance I have ever owned. We have had no fewer than a dozen service visits, parts replacements etc... on this appliance in the first two years since we have owned it. The refrigerator chooses to defrost without warning and has spoiled thousands of dollars of perishables at various points, again, in only the first two years in its operation. This refrigerator has never worked properly/consistently since its installation. Much worse, we cannot appeal to anyone at GE to replace or even extend the factory warranty despite clear indications that this product is a lemon (12+ service visits all made through GE's website with Bodewell). I will never purchase another GE appliance (refrigerator or otherwise) in the future.

Overall quality was poor at best. Door seals were defective, stainless steel skins were damaged due to packaging. Doors were misaligned and therefore crooked. Within a year, skins were replaced, seals were replaced. Seals didn't seal, unit kept running since all cold was escaping, food going bad from not keeping temperature. Lights in freezer went out. GE customer service was rude, ineffective, and at one point telling me 'you can't have a unit that is perfect.

I have now had my refrigerator for a few years. I waited to write a review until I thought the initial issues would be resolved. Unfortunately, it is clear that this refrigerator is of very low quality. I have had it serviced between 10 and 20 times (I stopped counting). The issues include the ice maker, door switches, general cooling, grinding noises, and the list goes on. The biggest issue is when it stops cooling. This has been due to several different sensors, fans, etc. When this happens, it can take over a week to get a service tech to look at it and then I've had to wait additional time for parts. Its a beautiful fridge and when it is working, it is wonderful. I can't recommend this product due to the long lasting issues which seem to be common based on my internet research.

1) Delivered with out of alignment doors and multiple dents 2) Replacement door was damaged (dents again) 3) Service personal constantly told us that all the products are damaged and we should just accept them. 4) Other products, range and dishwasher have similar problems. Not a great workmans ship

We bought a new GE 48" built in Refrigerator. After 1 month , the refrigerator section stopped cooling, which we had to call 5 times for repairs. Under warranty , GE has changed 4 main parts, which clearly showed this unit was defective from beginning. It took 4 moths for the GE customer service to realize that this is unit was defective, & after some persuasion from the technician as well, they have decided to replaced the whole unit. It caused a lot of headache & inconvenience for us for 4 months.

It's a good refrigerator, not at big inside as our previous refrigerator. The freezer has wire shelves and for this price should be glass. Like the ice, it's the small cubes but this is the only thing better than the refrigerator it replaced. It's not as nice looking and doesn't have temperature gauges on the outside or at all. Doors don't have self closers....very expensive for the lack of features.

AVOID like the Plague

DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR . We won't mention the problems we have had getting it, ( arrived 4 months late, and damaged and took 6 months to get it repaired after they convinced us to accept delivery adn they woudl repair it) Has needed service every 3-4 months since then, the last repair was promised to be the one but the freezer fan begins making loud noise, we have to empty the entire unit for 2 days before the tch arrives ( yeah, no using it at all and it leaks water as it completely thaws out) am awaiting the next repair as I type this

New dysfunctional unit and will not replace!

Bought a brand new unit. Ice maker doesn™€™t work upon delivery. Tecnician came and replaced ice maker bin unit but still doesn™€™t work. Also found upon closer look that there is a crack in the plastic inner shell where the ice dispenses . After calling GE for return visit to fix dispenser (and now the crack), they outsource the work to a local repair shop . Remains to be seen what the work quality will be. Upon request to GE customer support to replace this obviously defective unit, they claim exchanges and refunds are not permitted (only repairs). Terrible!

Attractive, but not as spacious as others

Installing was fairly straightforward; except it requires two people to level the doors. The water filter imparts a bitter taste. Better to bypass that and use your own externally. The stainless exterior is tough to keep clean.
