Cooktop scratches easily and is harder to keep clean. The controls are touchy. They lock up easily. I have had to reset the breaker multiple times in less than a year. I like no knobs. I wish there were 2 big burners in front.

Just installed so cannot comment on anything other than it looks great and an upgrade from the similar GE cooktop that it replaced. Seems that it is more helpful in options to cook things and able to better control heating. Only thing initially noticed is that the safety lock and hot lights are not as large or bright as the previous model. Look forward to hopefully years of trouble free use.

The sad thing is I used to be able to get one of these with a stainless steel protective edge on the glass on all sides. This design is poorly thought out. If someone pushes a pot into the side it can break the glass - no protection on the cooktop edges. My other one had the stainless steel edge and I loved it.

We decided to remodel our kitchen and decided to go with Ge Profile appliances. We were replacing an older slide in range and oven. Our contact at Bill Smith Appliances was extremely knowledgeable and helped with the GE Appliances that would meet our needs We the GE PEP9036DTBB Cooktop and could not be happier. The lack of control knobs, ease of use and ™€œmicro™€ adjustments are a big winner. It has been a game changer in our kitchen. We also selected the GE Profile Microwave/oven combo and that works so well with the Cooktop.

I really like the feature that you can turn the burners off by holding down the button for 3 seconds. This is a safety feature that I like because you can easily turn a burner on by just running over the buttons unintentionally if the button is not on lock.

Not as good as it used to be

We replaced our old 36" GE Profile with the new 36" GE Profile and I am not as pleased with it as the original, which was 25 years old. The new cooktop does not get as hot as the old and the cooktop surface scratches much more easily and is very difficult to clean, although we are using the same recommended cooktop cleaner we have always used. I wish I had my old one back.

easy to operate

I I'm having a easy time operating the stove. it is different from my other stove, but getting better operating it. I have had GE appliances for 65 years and and the only one I am nor happy with is the washing machine. Wish some one could help me with my l problem. The tube is too deep. It is hard for me to take out the cloths. I am using a kitchen prongs to take out my cloths.

Inaccurate Product Measurements

Great looking cooktop. I like the feature of having a timer right on my stove top. We replaced an old 36™€ cooktop that was malfunctioning. The measurements listed are 36 1/8™€ wide and 21™€ deep. Actual measurements are 35 15/16™€ wide and 20 3/8™€ deep. So in our application we ended up with a 5/8™€ gap behind our cooktop. We™€™ll be looking for a trim kit to fill the space.

Great addition to my kitchen!

This was the perfect cooktop to finalize my kitchen. I inserted this into my island for a seamless finish and it has made my life so much easier! The touch screen controls make it simple to change temperatures or turn on another stove eye with the touch of my finger or knuckles when my hands are full. This cooktop heats up almost instantly and has different size eyes based off of what size pot you are cooking on. It has been easy to clean even the burnt messed off of it with the scratch protective coating that is on this. I am very pleased with this, I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade or switch to a touch control cooktop!
