So far so good, like it way better than Samsung

So far so good. This refrigerator replaced an old Samsung refrigerator that was getting the dreaded giant ICE ball monthly that required manual defrosting. After research I came across many technicians that said having an ice maker inside your refrigerator was a horrible engineering design. So we opted for this model that has the ice maker in the freezer and water on the inside along the door. My only complaint with this design is that you have to leave the door open while you fill your water container allowing cold air to escape which then requires the refrigerator to work harder. I would love to see GE put ONLY the water dispenser on the outside of the door and leave the ice maker in the freezer. That way you could get water without opening the door and wasting your cold air to the room. That aside, the space inside here is great. It is laid out exactly like our old Samsung with the one huge benefit of not losing the top corner to a giant ice maker. There is plenty of space and we do not over pack this refrigerator because of that. My research also said that over packing any refrigerator is never a good idea and will eventually lead to cooling problems if you block the back of the refrigerator where the vents are located. So long story short after two months this refrigerator is awesome. But two months is nothing. Time will be the real judge. Just remember to pull your refrigerator out and do the maintenance like vacuuming the compressor and making sure the air flow is clean. If you don't take care of these fragile plastic boxes they won't last like they used to 50 years ago.

We have only had our new refrigerator for 2 weeks, but it's great so far! It is very roomy inside, it looks great (black), the lighting inside is bright making it easy to see everything, and we like the freezer on the bottom. The shelves are easy to get in and out for cleaning and rearranging (as opposed to my last GE refrigerator). Glad with our purchase!

Replaced a very similar configuration of Samsung that I'd had for over 15 years which I loved, and this GE is an excellent replacement. I've had this new GE for several months now, and am pleased in all ways with the convenience and quiet operation. Especially helpful is a shelf with a retractable front that makes a useful, versatile space that I make use of frequently (to my surprise.) One disappointment was the Lowes installer put the bottom freezer door handle "upsidedown" - the screws and holes are on the top of the handle instead of underneath. NOT a problem of GE, and although I am elderly, I may try to remove the handle and reattach it correctly. In all ways, I am very pleased with this GE refrigerator's cooling and large capacity.

I wanted a Black to match my other appliances and this item in black was almost 1k more than the black stainless , etc As for the frig itself I do not like the plastic freezer drawers , I had wire ones before that I thought were studier as was the other plastic shelving I wanted the cabinet depth but found the capacity too small.

Cons: Freezer too small (compared to similar sized Sams***). Switch for turning off ice maker is not marked (off/on) and very hard to reach. Water cooling for the dispenser is inadequate. Pros: Well lighted and roomy cooling compartment. General functioning (e.g., door/bin closure, shelf arrangement, etc). Internal visibility is excellent.

I just love everything about my new French-Door refrigerator!!! My previous 2 GE refrigerators were side-by-side models. There's so much space inside. Love the ice cube area and water in the door. Lots of room inside. It's been very easy to organize contents and find what I'm looking for in no time. Everything seems to stay fresh in the bins. Big Fridge

This fridge is HUGE which I love. However it is the noisiest thing in the house. Not like a continuous annoying hum/buzz, but a concert of sounds. Thought someone was knocking on my front door initially but turned out to be the fridge. Gurgling and moaning sounds although I usually have ice maker "paused" and don't use the water dispenser less than ice. Right door likes to slam itself open if not closed tightly (and it doesn't "suck in" automatically at a close distance. Freezer drawer groans like it might break even though only moderately stocked and not with heavy items. Get frozen water droplets on air intake in back of fridge and items placed in that area will ice up (like yogurt or leaf spinach). Got mainly for square footage. Its a nice fridge, but it constantly reminds me its there. Water dispenser is okay design. Not very drippy, but a tad hard to fill big travel mugs. Got fridge purposely for ice maker in freezer and no water outside of door. So nice clean look and nothing to clean mildew and such off of. Make sure you have plenty of room to get this thing to its home. width and height. Glad I got it and generally happy with it.

We just received this fridge yesterday but so far, so good. We haven't hooked up the water line yet. The fridge is very roomy and cooled very quickly. The only thing I don't like is the freezer door seems very lightweight and flimsy when closing it.

Space is bigger than it looks

Our fridge went out and we needed something immediately. This was not my first pick. I was actually really annoyed this was the only one we could get without waiting for a month. Super glad this is what I ended up with. We have a lot of kids and need a lot of gallons in our fridge. So far I have 6 gallons in the fridge with plenty of room for regular items. I love the dispenser being on the inside so I don™€™t have to worry about the holder getting nasty and water spots.

Exterior is sleek and attractive. Interior is spacious but several areas coud be improved. The material & design of shelves could be sturdier. The shelf holding the crispers flexes, leaving large gaps. Water dispenser design is TERRIBLE. They use a pice of rigid tube that directs water nearly straight down the sidewall, making it difficult to get a glass/cup fully under the stream. This allows water to drip down the sidewall and puddle at bottom of fridge.

Purchased an entire kitchen suite of GE appliances in late August 2024. Everything available in a few weeks for delivery, but fridge showed a backorder status - delivery date of mid Oct. Had the order split to get other things for my new kitchen. Oct comes, 2-3 days before the delivery date, an HD automated call tells me its not coming, and is rescheduled for mid Nov. 2nd date came and went - no fridge! HD nor GE can provide answer, other than no guarantee on when it will come. Poor Svc

Bought through HD and just poorly built and cheap appearance. Doors will not align no matter how much adjustment I do. Works great so if you just need garage frig or you are not concerned of appearance, I would suggest.

Great/Easy Purchase and Installation

The product was delivered in great condition. The good packaging by GE prevented any damage to any of the shelves, bins, handles or drawers. McLean Sales, Newberry, MI was the Dealer I worked with and the service I received in ordering and delivery of the product was outstanding. The installation is very easy and we had the unit installed and operational in less than an hour. All of the parts fit. We turned the unit on and within a couple of hours everything was cooled down and the unit was making ice. This was our first GE large appliance and if it continues to work this well we will be customers again

Purchase this refrigerator after a more expensive (other brand) broke down and received terrible customer service. Have been using it for about 6 months now and have had zero issues! The other lasted just about as long with horrible results and numerous service calls. Glad I switched back to GE!

We love the new frig, it is spacious and we love the bottom freezer (we had side by side) previously and like the ice being in the bottom.. My wife loves the color (black) as opposed to the stainless steel which was hard to clean.

Love this refrigerator!! Plenty of room in the frig area and the bottom freezer. Best part is not having the ice/water on the outside of the door. The ice tray inside is huge, always more than enough ice. The water dispenser is on the inside left section of the frig. Not a fan of having to open the frig when water is needed. I use a Brita water pitcher on my counter most of the time. Great buy and looks nice!!

This fridge is huge inside. I couldnt be happier with this purchase. If I had to nitpick. to get the deli drawer all the way open both doors need to be open ( I can live with it. ) and the ice maker when it drops the ice into an empty bin is a bit loud but rarely will the bin be totally empty. The water located where it is is genius. You dont lose door storage due to ice & water being there because its been relocated. love love love. I was able to get the same inch fridge as my last one but this design had more cubic feet & you can totally tell. huge inside

I have only had this refrigerator for a day, but was very impressed with the rapid cool down and how quickly it made ice. It has plenty of room and I like the ability to place shelves at different levels.

Bought this refrigerator at Home Depot. Have only had it a week but so far we love it. Switched from a side-by-side. This fridge has tons of room and food items are easy to see. Love that large platters/trays fit without a problem. Shelves can easily be can be moved to change configuration inside.

Love the look of this new fridge. In my opinion it's much better looking that the run of the mill stainless steel. Also love the fact that the ice maker is located down below in the freezer compartment and that the ice water dispenser is hidden inside the fridge. No unsightly cutouts in the front of the door. Much cleaner look.

Great fridge, love the large amount of fridge storage. The freezer stays organized. I was expecting to love the water inside the fridge. If you have elementary/middle school kids, this is not the easiest for them to use. Specifically due to the height and force it takes to obtain the water.
